The Adventures of Dr. Buckeye Bottoms on NatGeo Wild

Aloha! I’m back from four months filming on location in HAWAII for NatGeo. My latest TV series follows a mobile veterinarian named Dr. Bartholomew Buckeye Bottoms, who treats farm animals on the islands of Kauai and Maui. Buckeye works from a mobile vet clinic (pickup truck) with his dog Kevin, and goes from farm to farm treating goats, cows, horses, pigs, dogs, cats and more. “The Adventures of Dr. Buckeye Bottoms” will air on NatGeo Wild in the winter of 2018.

I spent the last four months filming with Buckeye for a total of 13 weeks on Kauai and Maui, and the show has turned out great! Our crew (from ITV, formerly Left Field Productions, based out of New York City) produced 8 additional episodes to complete the first season. I was the sole Field Producer / Director on location, so I did every single interview, and directed every scene this season.

Here are some clips from the 3 pilot episodes of the show, which aired earlier this year:

  1. This show is wonderful! Very educational and heartwarming Shows a very gentle and compassionate vet Shows how all animals should be treated Please continue this show! With all of the bad news in our society this is a bright, uplifting light

  2. I Love this show. Buckeye is truly awesome. Thanks for airing such a feel good program. Keep up the great work.

  3. I absolutely positively love this man and his show. I hope it goes on for years. It’s very sad that he took over for Dr. Sims the Aloha “Barefoot vet” ..I didn’t know he had passed away but Dr Buckeye is delightful and honest and hilarious. I love how he hugs all of his clients. I wish he could clone himself and work in Everett Washington as well as Hawaii. We love you Dr Buckeye!!!

  4. Love …love this series of Buckeye & Kevin…enjoyed the visit from his Dad too..keep the shows coming ..kudos …good series

  5. I love watching Buckeye He is such a compassionate person with the animals and owners. I was worried about him and the volcanos. Wanted to check on him.
